Echoes of the Rockies
Forest green, river turquoise, and winter-sky blue — a palette pulled straight from the country that still lives under my skin.
Some places don’t just stay in your memory.
They take up permanent residency, rent-free,
leaving little postcards in your chest every time you breathe in.
Most of my paintings grow out of colour, texture, and feeling…
but sometimes a memory pushes through and insists on being painted.
This one is that kind of memory.
A lived landscape of Canada.
Deep forests that whispered,
waterways that glowed impossibly blue,
mountains that made you feel small in the best way,
and nights so cold the sky felt sharper than the stars.
Painting this felt like stepping back inside that moment.
Lungs expanding, heart slowing,
the whole world big and quiet again.
The textures of a place that still lives in my bones.
